Winning and Flying, both so exciting!!!!!!

So my latest obbsession is blogstalking. It all started when Jaimin sent me a link to Her Cup Overfloweth and it was all downhill from there! First I just started following all the great blogs with ideas for toddlers, then it was on to the homeschooling blogs, and now my newest thing is entering all the great giveaways I’ve discovered so many blogs do. Who would have thought it??? I’ve ever seen some of them giving away really big stuff….like brand name strollers and gliders and everything! Too cool! I’ve been entering them like crazy but didn’t really expect to win anything. Well this past week I got word that I actually did win something from this blog. It was a $20 gift certificate to Piggy Paint, non toxic kid and environment-friendly finger paint. How cute is that gonna be???!!!! I can’t wait to paint Amber’s nails! Now getting her to sit still so I can…that’s gonna be a whole different story…..

Also the girl who runs the blog I won from approached me with the idea of doing a giveaway from Artistic Albums. I was thrilled! I’d played around with the idea, seems like a great way for some cheap advertisement!! And I’d like to “give back” to all the mom’s out there like me too. I didn’t know if I would be thought of as worthy of a giveaway though, haha. But apparently I am! ๐Ÿ˜€ So stay in tuned for more news on that! ๐Ÿ™‚

I will be going MIA for a little while, well more like a long while….next Monday me and Amber are flying back to Wyoming for a whole month!! WOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I’m SO very excited! The fair is next week and I’ll get to see Phil Vassar and Emerson Drive in concert plus all the other great things that come along with the Sweetwater County Fair…..funnel cakes, gryos, and all the great displays! I also can’t wait to bring Amber out there this year and take her to the petting zoo and to see the bunnies and cows and horses! ๐Ÿ˜€ We’re also planning on going down to Lagoon (an amusement park) in SLC, camping, and all sorts of other things. I’m so sooooo sad Bob doesn’t get to come but he used up all his leave during our hop-out-of-the-CG-just-kidding-hop-back-in fiasco. But although I’m gonna miss him gobs I’m SO excited! This is the first time I’ve gone home in the summer since I got married. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ So anywho….I’ll be checking my email and be on FB I’m sure but probably won’t get around to blogging myself for awhile. Hope you don’t miss me too much! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ll give ya a great BIG update when I get back!! ๐Ÿ™‚ One of my best friends due date is August 27th so I’m flying back here the 26th of August. Of course today her baby dropped though :S So it looks like despite my best efforts I might miss the little boys grand appearance…I told him to stay in but apparently he’s not listening! ๐Ÿ™‚

Alrighty….enough rambling…..Till next time!

Fast and Furious, Short and Sweet

Those two phrases completely describe my brother and sister-in-laws visit this week. Dan and Allegra were down in SC visiting her family and decided to swing up and visit us for 2 days since they won’t get to see Bob for awhile since he has to stay here while I go home in a few weeks. We made the most of our short time though! Tuesday was beach and bbq day. Dan and I got nasty sunburns but everyone had a great time. We even got to see dolphins which Dan had never seen in person before so that was pretty awesome ๐Ÿ™‚ That night the Dicksons came down for a delicious bbq feast courtesy of Chef Bob.ย Wednesday we headed up to Tryon Palace in New Bern. We all enjoyed the tour and the beautiful gardens and I got a few really good flower pics I’m proud of. My number one wish list item right now is a “fancy” camera….maybe someday!!! After a meal at Chick-fil-a and stopping by Books a Million we jetted back to Morehead, then went over to Historic Ft. Macon. We literally got to look around for about 10 minutes before they closed but we got a few quick cute pictures. That night we had dinner at Fins in Beaufort overlooking the water. Both nights we played poker, but the Romero’s showed up the Elliott’s with Dan winning the first night and Allegra taking it all the next….of course my excuse is I gave it away both nights or I would have won it all….or at least that’s what I’m claiming!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m hoping to win this giveaway so I can get one of these pictures printed on a canvas ๐Ÿ˜€

The Fourth of July

We celebrated the 4th of July with just the 3 of us this year. We had a wonderful day though. We battled the tourists to buy new sunglasses, Bob grilled us up a feast, and then we played (Bronco) Monopoly. I got slaughtered the first time but was able to soothe my fierce competitiveness by winning the second round. That night we went and watched both fireworks displays over the water. Amber actually stayed awake for them this year and was pretty impressed with them. She “OOoo-ed” them and clapped and said “Yey!” ๐Ÿ˜€ That was probably the best part! ๐Ÿ™‚ It was a sweet simple day and I had a wonderful time celebrating it with my beautiful little girl and my very own American Hero. ๐Ÿ˜€

Going to see the fireworks

This Tuesday we got a package my Grandma Middlemas sent for Amber. It was filled with a bunch of adorable patriotic outfits. ๐Ÿ˜€ Sad they didn’t come in time for the 4th but they’ll be great for the rest of the summer. Amber loved opening the package up and asked me to put the cutest one on right away, which is hilarious because she hates getting changed. We then had to go outside and do a photo shoot ๐Ÿ˜‰ I got some completely adorable pics! The trick to getting your 16 month old to stand still and smile? Sing “Itsy Bitsy Spider” as obnoxiously as you possibly can!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
