As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve had some drastic, and not so drastic, changes to my blog layout lately. I’ve gotten several compliments so thank you to those of you who noticed! It was a long, and at times frustrating process, lol, and I sincerely appreciate you noticing!
I thought I’d share with you how I did it all, or at least what resources I used! That way if you would like to you can tweak your layout. If you don’t feel like it I’d be willing to do a custom layout for you (for money) I don’t know that I’m good enough for anyone to be willing to pay me 🙂 But I thought I’d throw it out there!
Here are the sites I used!
SJH Blog Design ~ awesome blog! I did most of my 3 column layout using her information, I got stuck part way through though, so I googled it and found another website, which I can’t find now, lol!! Sorry! I played around with the code a bit till I got it to work.
Jenieshell’s Design Challenge ~ Her blog is great! It is where I learned how to make my massive amounts of buttons scroll, and how I made my great nav bar!
Kevin and Amanda ~ I used their tutorial on how to change the fonts in my titles and sidebars **Important Note** Be careful you do not delete your font after you upload it, when you drag it out of the font folder it un-installs it!!! I learned this the hard way and almost lost one of my most favorite fonts ever!!!!!
Blog Button ~ Both of the first two sites explain how to make a blog button but I got the code the “easy way” from Katie over at A Listmaker’s Life (thanks so much Katie for all your help during this transformation process!) If you’d like it the easy way to just email me and I’ll send it to ya 🙂 I’m also willing to design a custom button for you in Photoshop for $5 🙂
The pages I used are from Summer Time Designs and the flowers are from Simply Clean Digi Scraps. I can use them even though I use this blog for profit because I purchased a commercial license from Summer, just a heads up 🙂 LoL.
Also, for those of you who just have a family blog and aren’t planning on running any of your own reviews or giveaways anytime soon (which is the whole reason I revamped my blog) I would highly reccomend The Cutest Blog on the Block. They have darling layouts and it takes all of 5 seconds to set them up!!! A huge benefit from them is that it’s just a simple copy paste and you can chage your layout often to match with the season, your mood, whatever 🙂 The second blog I listed also has freebie layouts you can use! And hers come with special buttons and everything, be sure you check them out!
Ok, hope that helps! 🙂 Good luck!
