I want to strongly encourage all of you who are following along to write out your story and post it on your blog! Leave the link in your comment and we’ll all go check it out! If you are like Heather and don’t have a blog, email me your story and pictures and I’ll post them on here!
Once Upon A Time…
All of us who are now wives have a “once upon a time”. This book is going to help us take the “once upon a time” to “happily ever after.” I love love…everything about it! I love love stories and weddings and engagements. I thought it would be nice for us to get to know each other a little better so I’ve written my love story which you can find here. I’ve also posted my best friend Heather’s love story because although she doesn’t have a blog she’s following along with us, and I was a key player in her love story 😉 You can find that here. You can also find my friend Karen’s love story on her blog A Spot of My Own.
I love Debi Pearl’s love story, it’s very unique and funny. For those of you who don’t have the book I’ll give you a little background about this amazing lady whose book we’ll be studying:
“I am not an accomplished, professional writer who has collected and collated material from other writers and speakers. I am a happy, creative wife, homeschool mom, and grandmother who, many years ago by the grace of God, found God’s will through his written Word, my husband’s instruction, and a mother’s example. I followed the plan and have enjoyed the blessed fruits of love for many years. I write to you because what I have enjoyed is just too good to bequeath only to my daughters and the few women I reach one at a time.”
She admits to us that her marriage was most certainly not perfect from the start and that it took a lot of learning, living, and loving before they gained a heavenly marriage. Then she goes on to give us a summary of what we can expect to learn from her book:
“You are going to learn God’s design for a woman, the place of fulfillment as a properly-fitted helper. We will discuss what God’s Word says of a help meet; what she does, what she shouldn’t do; and the rewards she can expect. Each day is a decision, each hour a challenge, and each response starts you toward either the quicksands of divorce or the solid ground of being blessed ‘heirs together of the grace of life’.”
Are you excited? I am!! I hope that by now you have received your copy of the book as next week we’ll be starting chapter one and diving in full force. I would strongly encourage you to get a copy if you’re planning on following along. I plan on mostly just referring to the book and supplementing it with additional material and my thoughts, very rarely will I include large portions of the chapters.
Thanks so much for following along!!
