Trend Micro™ SafeSync™ *Review*

Thanks to being a BzzAgent I’m once again getting to try a fab new product! This time it was Trend Micro SafeSync. It’s an online service that backs up all your important files (you tell it which ones to do) and then each time you get on the computer it checks and adds to your account with your new files or makes any changes that you might have made. I’m the type of person who is obsessive about making sure my photos are safe…I keep them on my computer, on a couple of different online photo sharing sites, and on my external hard drive. Only then can I delete them off of my memory card, haha! The problem with all that is that it depends on *me* to keep it safe, and I can tell you right now I’m *horrible* at backing up everything–especially on my external. I love the fact that SafeSync does all the work for me instead! It has an easy to use format and uploaded *all* my many pictures pretty quickly. There are also several different sizes with different prices that you can purchase. I will be needing to upload as my hundreds of pictures have taken up all my space already, haha.

You can use the discount code BZZ20 for 20% off!

Happy file saving 😉

It’s so cute now that Amber is older because she gets *so* excited when we get new books in. Sea Monster’s First Day has been a *huge* hit with her! The story is super cute and has great illustrations to go with it. It’s perfect for preschoolers because it’s a little more advanced without having too much text, I appreciated some of the humor that went over her head a little, it was making me giggle 😀 I would highly recommend this book, it has become a favorite bedtime story for all of us!

Pieces of Light by Julie Cave *Review*

Pieces of Light (A Dinah Harris Mystery)
I stayed up waaaaay too late last night because I just *had* to finish Pieces of Light   I have been impressed with the series in the previous two books, and the third was no exception. Now that I have read the complete series I am absolutely an avid fan! This is hands down the best series I’ve been sent to review. I love how Julie delves into the true depths of sin and humanity–from murders, to drug abuse, to alcoholism, to cutting, to suicide, to child abuse–she covers it all. Nothing is sugar coated, nothing glossed over or ignored. But it never goes too far, never gets too depressing. She also equally shows God’s triumph over sin, the peace and joy that can come even after a life filled with sin and despair. I *love* the fact that the gospel is so clearly presented in each and every book-to the point some one could get saved just from reading them. That is such a rare thing even is Christian novels these days. These books are now some of my very favorite, period, and I will be buying them as gifts for others I know, as well as recommending them to everyone I know that enjoys reading!

Amber my Fashionista

I have two beautiful children, Amber who is 3 and Tyler who just turned 1. Though Tyler’s sense of style is, of course, absolutely fabulous 😉 I’m afraid I must admit that he doesn’t have much of a say over what he wears at this point. Although I do tend to use the zip up jammies because he’s so wiggly it’s hard to get him to stay still long enough to do the button ones!
My little Amber, however, is an entirely different story. She’s been picking out her own clothes and showing her own unique style since shortly after she turned two.  When getting ready to go to the park for a play date she’d insist on wearing one of her fluffy tutus over her clothes. She truly is *my* daughter as she always picks out the one that actually matches what she’s wearing. I have a horrible hatred of anything that doesn’t match…the point of being too matchy-matchy and breaking all sorts of rules myself like how you’re never supposed to wear eye shadow that matches your clothing-who ever thought up that one anyways? But I digress…also just like me she flaunts her fluffy girly clothes—while digging in the dirt, climbing up the slides, and running all around. A perfect mix mash of girly girl and tomboy it shows in both her attitude and clothing!
Now that she’s older she likes to have more of a say in what she wears. She calls all dresses or skirts “pretty tutus” even though she still does like to flaunt the real thing more often than not. Now that we’re in the age of dress up and pretend I often find myself taking her out in a hodge podge of clothing. Yesterday we went down town with her in a tank top, mermaid dress up skirt, hot pink sandals, and little white rimmed sunglasses—which she proceeded to wear the entire time we were in the store. We got a lot of smiles and a lot of turned heads as she pranced proudly in her self picked outfit of choice.
I just smile back, however. Because I love the fact that my little girl is developing into her own little person, complete with her adorable and unique sense of style!

The Invisible World by Anthony DeStefano *Review & Giveaway*

The Invisible World: Understanding Angels, Demons, and the Spiritual Realities That Surround UsIn The Invisible World: Understanding Angels, Demons, and the Spiritual Realities That Surround Us Anthony DeStefano attempts to take the very real, very invisible world of “principalities and powers” that surround us daily and bring it into focus for us so that we can grasp it in a real way. One of the things that I loved about the book is that unlike many devotional type books his style of reading makes it easy to zoom right through the book. It’s lively and engaging and made me be able to read it all in the few days we were up camping-no need to set it down because it’s so dry! Though there were some of his points that I would have been more likely to attribute to the Holy Ghost than angels (of course that’s just my own personal opinion) I found his thoughts to be very insightful, thought provoking, and in line with what the Bible teaches. The only thing that I disliked about the book is that he cusses twice, once in using the other word for donkey, and once in quoting his former self (before he was a Christian) though these things are not necessarily a “big deal” I just feel that in any Christian book it’s just better to avoid it. All in all I found the book to be extremely interesting and good, and would definitely suggest reading it! Be sure to check out Anthony’s Website to learn more about this book and his other books!

Lilies In the Moonlight by Allison Pittman *Review*

(LILIES IN MOONLIGHT ) BY Pittman, Allison K. (Author) Paperback Published on (04 , 2011)Lilies in the Moonlight was one of the most unique historical romances that I’ve read. It focuses in on Lilly Margolis who is a genuine “flapper”. In the book Allison Pittman delves into the darkness of the after math of wounds–physical and emotional. Each character in the book seems touched by some kind of deep problem, and the book walks through the healing to be found through God’s love. Although I felt that it focused a little too much on some of the more physical aspects of attraction, it did do a good job of representing real problems and every day struggles-both for back then and ones that are definitely still relevant today. The story was a unique one, as were the characters. I’d highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys a twist on historical fiction romances! It was a fun and easy read, and definitely kept my attention-I finished it in just 3 days!

TroopPaws *Giveaway*

***This giveaway is now CLOSED congrats to Semper Wifey who won***

As you probably know by now my husband is currently deployed. While he’s been gone I’ve been researching into various deployment resources, especially for kids. When I found out about TroopPaws I was so excited–these dogs are absolutely *adorable*!!! Here is some information about them from the website:

Each Troop Paws measures 14″ in height and is made of authentic military camouflage.  They each are adorned with a gro-grain ribbon bow tie and attached to the neck is a metal logo printed dog tag on a key chain.  The filling of the Troop Paws are 100% soft poly hypoallergenic.  On the right sleeve is a woven American Flag label.  The front of the Troop Paws has a clear pocket which is where the photo of your troop goes.  They are proudly made in the USA.

Right now they have dogs for the Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force. (I’m highly encouraging them to add a Coast Guard dog 😉 )

One Lucky Reader will win their own TroopPaws dog!

Then Sings My Soul Special Edition By Robert Morgan *Review*

Then Sings My Soul Special EditionI grew up in a very conservative church where we only sang hymns. I’ve always found that knowing the stories behind these songs made it much more interesting to sing them and gave me a depth, understanding, and appreciation for them. I’ve heard hymn stories used for different devotions and programs from time to time. This book is a great compilation of all of my home churches favorite songs. It definitely isn’t the kind of book you can sit down and read it just a few sittings, it took me several months to get through, reading it here and there. It would be great to have for referencing or to use in devotions or any classes at church. One of the things I found extremely interesting is the varying backgrounds and churches that many of our hymns come from. I grew up in a Baptist church and so few of the songs we sing were actually written by Baptists. I just found that rather interesting and eye opening. I love the look and feel of the special edition-it has rugged edges and thick paper, gives it such a great feel!! Call me old fashioned but that’s why I will always love a “real” book compared to one on a reader! This book makes an interesting and useful addition to any Christian’s library and I’d highly recommend it!
