Growing up one of my favorite Christmas treats was Fantasy Fudge. This easy and uber delicious recipe could be found on the back of the Kraft Marshmallow Creme jar. I made it for the Sweetwater County Fair and won a Grand Champion Ribbon for it–so you know it’s good! When I was a teenager they changed the recipe and it was a disaster! The new fudge wasn’t nearly as good–and since we’d always just followed it on the can we had no clue what recipe we used to follow was. After much searching a few years ago I came across the original recipe–hurray! We have our delicious fudge again! It’s so good I just had to share with you all as well 🙂 Enjoy!
The Original Fantasy Fudge Recipe
3 Cups Sugar
3/4 cup butter
2/3 cup evaporated milk (5 oz can)
12 oz Chocolate Chips
7 oz Marshmallow Creme
1 Cup Chopped Walnuts (–if you’re like me you can leave this out)
1 Tsp Vanilla
Combine sugar, butter & milk in saucepan. Bring to a full roiling boil stirring constantly. Boil 5 min. over medium high heat, stirring. Remove from heat, stir in chocolate till melted. Add marshmallow creme, vanilla, and nuts. Stir till blended. Pour into greased 13×9 pan and allow to cool. Enjoy!
*Tip* Be sure to bring it to a FULL boil before you begin timing the 5 minutes to allow the sugar to dissolve completely so you don’t end up with crunchy sugar fudge!
