I have always been a roses girl! They are my favorite gift and I adore all varieties from long stemmed beauties to sweet smelling wild roses! We had a huge yellow rose bush along side of my house growing up–somehow it thrived even in Wyoming, perhaps that’s where my love of roses began! You’ve already seen in The Azalea Trail that Tyler is famous for it’s flowers, but did you know it’s most famous for it’s roses?!
As much as I love the other great things that Tyler, Texas has to offer–like the Caldwell Zoo and the LeGrand-Goodman House–my favorite spot in Tyler is probably the Tyler Rose Garden! We’ve been several different times now, and each time it feel totally different as the landscaping changes with the season and what’s in bloom.
We went in February of this year to get Amber’s 5 Year Old pictures. Although none of the roses were out yet I was amazed at how many of the bushes and early blooming flowers were. It was lovely and very quiet!
The Tyler Rose Garden is 14 acres which makes it the largest rose garden in the nation! There are so many gorgeous rows of roses along with many fountains, statues, a pond, and many other varieties of flowers.
I’ve only been there with the kids, but I always think that it would be the absolute perfect spot to go and unwind for an afternoon, reading or even writing. It seems like the kind of place where inspiration would be bound to hit! You can rent it out for Weddings and I can’t imagine how breathtaking a wedding there would be!
