Most years pass by with a nice, even mix of highs and lows. Then there are some very few, but very precious, years that are absolutely wonderful and when you look back you see only blessing and joy. Then there are other years that are just absolutely, completely difficult and filled with challenges and trials, one right after another. As I’ve shared before 2011 was one of those really difficult years for me, and unfortunately 2015 has been one of those years for my parents.

The story of why this year has been so hard for them could last for pages. However, for the sake of time, and wanting to focus on the positives rather than the bad, I will boil this terrible year down immensely by saying that they’ve faced everything from a multitude of difficult surgeries for themselves and my Grandma, to the decision to have to place my Grandma in a nursing home, to my dad being fired because of slander after working at the same company for over 30 years.

Yes, 2015 has been a very, very rotten year for my poor parents.

Through it all, however, I have been so amazed, impressed, and humbled by my mom’s responses to it all. As you might already know she not only was an absolutely amazing mom to me growing up, she’s now one of my very best friends. Although we don’t live close by we keep in touch nearly every day either through texts, emails, or long, long phone calls (usually the latter.) Because of this I’ve had a “front row” seat to everything unraveling this year, and been able to see her true feelings and reactions “behind closed doors”.  Oh, she’s perfectly human and has cried plenty of tears and felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and scared. This never lasts long at all, however, and before long she’s back to living out her faith in trusting, hoping, believing, and accepting it all with such grace, strength, and elegance that I’m humbled and proud to be her daughter.

After seeing her go through everything this year, I wanted my Christmas gift for her to be something extra special that would let her know just how much I love her! My mom-in-law loves buying jewelry at Dillard’s so I thought it would be the perfect place to pick up a gift that would be special enough for my mom.

I love to get my Christmas shopping done early, and I picked the perfect time to go shopping as the store was gorgeous with all its Christmas decor (and smelled so good because of their awesome perfume counters nearby). What caught my eye the most, however, were these gorgeous  Box Sets from Anne Klein! My mom loves jewelry that has a classic, timeless feel to it and I knew that these were exactly her style!

I loved that there were so many different styles and finish to choose from, and they’re all easily adjustable so there’s no worry about sizing. Another thing I loved is that the all the Anne Klein pieces can easily be worn stacked together, or all by themselves, giving a variety of looks that will never go out of style. After admiring all the sets for a long time I had a hard time deciding on just one, but I finally picked what I knew would be the perfect match for her!

All of the sets are designed with Swarovski® crystals and I really loved how they were presented in this set with the gorgeous watch and two bracelets. I know my mom is going to be so excited when she opens this on Christmas and it will be just the perfect surprise to bring a bright spot that will hopefully carry into a fresh new season of their lives in 2016!

As you can see the set comes already packaged in an elegant jewelry style box that’s easy to wrap and gift! With such a special gift, I wanted the wrapping to be just as elegant, so here’s my quick and easy elegant wrapping tutorial!

Items Needed:

  • Gilded Tissue Paper or Wrapping Paper
  • Golden Poinsettia Decor on branch
  • Black Satin Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Tape

Wrap the box in the gilded tissue/wrapping paper as you usually would.

Lay the poinsettia branch across the top of the package and slide to one side. Take the branch and wrap down around the side and across the bottom, secure with tape.

Take your black satin ribbon and wrap it around the sides of the package, overlapping the part of the branch. Take one end and tie it in a secure knot and then tuck the end behind the back.

Take the rest of the ribbon and wrap it around itself in the middle on the side of the branch until a small end is left, wrap this up behind and around the branch.

Tuck the end of the ribbon in behind the branch and you have a gorgeous, elegant, and easy wrapping job that reflects the special and elegant gift inside!

Who do you know that really deserves an Anne Klein box set this year? Leave me a comment and let me know!
