Because of this I wanted to re-share about this wonderful place! If you’re not local and want to find out where you can pick your own you can find a local spot at . This year we picked extra so I could make this *delicious* Blueberry Crisp, it was amazing and you should make it even if you have to buy from the store!

Picking Blueberries is something that I’ve always wanted to do, so when my Moms Inc group announced that our outing would be to go to Blueberry Hill Farms in Edom, TX I was super excited! There are several pick your own places around here but I wasn’t sure which would be the best to go to, so I was happy to bow to the expertise of seasoned locals!

I was so pleased with Blueberry Hill Farms! We arrived around 8:30 (they’re open from 7-5) and it was just perfect! Not crowded at all, not 100+ degrees at that time of day, big open rows for picking, and lots and LOTS of blueberry bushes. On their website they give a rating of how many berries are ready for picking (they do blackberries as well but we only opted for the blue variety today–definitely want to blackberry pick sometime soon though!) The rating for today was a 5 (middle of the scale) but we didn’t have any trouble filling up the kids smaller sized pails! Both of the kids had a blast and Tyler kept telling me, “I pick blueberries off the BUSHES! So much fun!!!”

There is a darling little bright red barn-esque country store (complete with a bathroom) with beautiful landscaping and flowers where you pay for your berries and it’s chock full of other delicious goodies: blueberry muffins, jams and butters of all different kinds, local honey, and more! We opted for the small blueberry frozen yogurt and it was super creamy and delicious! The perfect treat after picking berries all morning!

We absolutely loved it and I will definitely return next summer! Next time I’ll be sure to have a copy of Jamberry
and Blueberries for Sal   handy since they would be the perfect ways to top off a blueberry picking day!
