I am a true believer that in order to give your husband, your children, and your friends the time and effort that they need you need to make sure that you are keeping your batteries charged! I’ve talked about this in my Me Time post and even in my recent post about how to fit in time to shower.
My very favorite gifts are hands down anything that has to do with pampering. I adore them because they are consumable (no clutter!) and I love to be pampered! Whether it’s a hair cut, mani-pedi, or delectable bath products and candles I just love products that make me feel taken care of and pampered!
In most areas I’ll admit that I’m pretty cheap frugal! When it comes to bath and body products, however, I always spring for the high quality stuff–or rather, I put the high quality stuff on my wish list and get it as gifts! 😉 You can just really tell the difference between the cheap stuff and the good stuff when it comes to bath bombs, lotion, and body wash!
Perfectly Posh is my absolute dream!!! The products smelled heavenly from the minute the box arrived. The Bombinator was ginormous and it was the first bath bomb I’ve ever seen that not only fizzled but actually turned into a bubble bath as well. Next time I think I’ll break it into smaller pieces–even with my huge garden tub I think half would have filled it nicely, and then I wouldn’t have had to be so sad that it was over in one use (haha!!)
The Slather Body butter is my favorite!!! My hubby stuck his fingers in it to goof off and I pinned him down and scraped it off of them (all while scolding him) that’s how much I love that stuff!!! Perfect for my legs it drinks them up and leaves them feel oh-so-silky smooth, mmmmm……
The Healer compact shea butter is great for any super damaged areas you might have, it helped to soothe a nasty hang nail I had, and I’m planning on using it on Amber’s knees as well.
The Stripper was a super interesting mud mask that cleans and detoxifies–I could definitely feel it working after just a minute!
I have nothing but good things to say about these products and this company–they are definitely going onto my gift wish list from now on!
In addition to loving quick fixes to help my shower time go quickly, I also adore any product that will help me make the other parts of my beauty routine quick and easy. I’ve always loved painting my toe nails–having painted toe nails instantly turns your feet cute! I also love that, unlike finger nails, once painted they stay looking great for weeks!
Again, once I became a mommy suddenly I find myself looking at toe nails that chipped and just gross looking. And now that its almost sandal & flip flop weather again that’s not a good thing!
I was a little skeptical to try the Kiss Nail Dress. Awesome little sticker strips–you simply peel them off and stick them on! I’m so impressed! It took me all of 5 minutes (with Amber “helping” to get these peeled, stuck, and trimmed. They recommend that you file the excess off but I found that using toe nail clippers to trim it most of the way, and then filing the edges, worked the very best.
And how cute is the final result??? I’m totally in love with this look–it’s *very* “me”. Plus it looks like I just spent an hour, several coats, or paid lots of money at the spa!
And I will admit–there is nothing like getting a deluxe mani-pedi, but for a busy mom this product is amazing!
Since I just put them on I’ll come back and update on how well they stay! 🙂
Again–thank to Influenster for my awesome Love VoxBox that’s helping me be a stylish mommy!
Do you have any great time saving beauty products? I’m always up for hearing new suggestions!!
Once you enter the realm of mommyhood things that you always took for granted–like the ability to shower at least once a day!
I’ve always made sure that I make the time to take care of myself even after my kiddos were born though! I know that when I start to feel frumpy and run down everyone suffers! Even on the days when I don’t even leave the apartment I’m sure to squeeze in a shower and put on at least my foundation and mascara. It makes me feel so much more motivated!
As I tell my friends, I swear by early bedtimes for fitting showers and relaxing baths in. When I bathe at night I can be sure that I won’t get interrupted and can take a nice, long, relaxing hot shower–or a soothing bubble bath!
On the days I work out I want a shower in the middle of the day, and since I work out at home that means I have the kiddos running around. I usually put Tyler into his crib with a few books and safe toys and take a quick shower. I’ve always believed that it’s important for kiddos to learn how to entertain themselves–and that things like showers for mommy are important! I know several of my friends let their kiddos wander in and out while they’re in the shower–and that’s what I do/did with Amber a lot. Tyler is a whole different kettle of fish, however, and so I put him away for his own safety (haha!)
On days like this quick fixes and helps are always appreciated! And this is why I love the Venus & Olay Razor. Since the bars are built onto it you can just run it over your legs without even worrying about lathering up your loofa. Although I’m not crazy about the bars during a nice relaxing time (they are a bit hard to maneuver so I prefer my regular Venus then) I love this razor for my after workout showers! It even comes with a nifty little suction cup holder so the bars won’t stick to anything, and it makes it nice and handy to grab!
A big thanks to Influenster for helping make this mommy’s showertime that much easier!
Do you have any secrets for fitting that all important shower into your busy mommy day?
I love soap! Bar soap, soft soap, big soap, little soap, red soap, white soap….
Well you get the idea. But it’s a true story. I even have a cool bamboo tray thingy in my guest bathroom where I display my pretty soaps and seashells while they’re waiting their turn to be used.
I also love handmade things and as such was thrilled to open up a package from Yester Year Soap Company. Their presentation of their soap was so adorable I had to take a picture before I opened it up. What a great gift this set would make for a bridal shower, wedding, or friend who needs some pampering!
In addition to being pretty the soap is actually good at doing what soap should do–mainly lathering up nicely and smelling delicious! I’ve been enjoying the Cherry Almond bar and always smell my hands after I finish washing them (Is that weird??? It probably is…oh well..I love smelly good things–any other secret hand smellers out there???)
You can find more fabulous soapy goodness on the Yester Year Soap Blog so be sure to check them out! Be sure to check out this awesome post: The YesterYear Soap Company has a ‘Heart’
–someone you know just might get some free soap if you do!
I was happy with these overall–they were super quick and easy to put on, did both hands in under 5 minutes. I also love how adorable they are and that they come in so many different patterns (36 in all!), and the fact that they are on the shorter side for fake nails-for me they were the perfect fit and length. The price is also great–$5.99 for colors and $7.99 for patterns, and they’re available all over including Wal-Mart and CVS.
As all my faithful readers know, I’m a total makeup junkie. To me one of the most important parts of makeup is having good foundation. I wear it every single day and feel naked without it. I wore it when I was a teenager to cover blemishes and now I wear it to even my skin tone out and create a great base for my other makeup. I *love* the Covergirl NatureLuxe foundation! It fit all my criteria for what a good foundation should be-it has a great texture (it even smells good!), great coverage, I can’t tell I’m wearing it once it’s on, and it doesn’t show up on my face (hate that “foundation” look!) The lip balm is *amazing* as well! I normally wear lip balm, and then apply my lip gloss/lipstick on top of it since my lips get so dry, especially in Wyoming. This takes that extra step out of the way for me, and the amount of color it gives is *perfect* as I like to have a little on my lips but mostly play up my eyes. I love both products and will definitely be purchasing them in the future! You can find them at anywhere Covergirl is sold, and it’s thanks to being a Bzz Agent that I got hooked up with this great makeup-so huge thanks to them!
