Ecofreek.com –find free stuff!

These days I get a lot of emails from people wanting me to post about their site–most of the time I don’t, my time is valuable with 2 jobs 2 kids and this blog 🙂 However once in awhile something is just too cool *not* to post about–so I go ahead and post anyways 🙂

Ecofreek.com is one of these sites–this is super cool, it’s like a much more user friendly non spammy version of freecycle –just pulling up Massachusetts I found everything from couches to a really nice wooden play set and flat screen tvs–sweet! Also tons of pets listed for free so if you’re thinking about a kitten for Christmas it would be a great place to look around. Definitely worth checking out!

Boston Tourism Essentials Ebook *Review & Giveaway*

I’ve been so fortunate that every place my hubby has been stationed in the Coast Guard is a place that is considered a “vacation destination”. As newlyweds we lived near Washington,  D.C.; then came the Crystal Coast in North Carolina, and our latest “long term vacation” is our home near Boston, MA. I didn’t get to see much of the touristy parts of the city we live so close to until my family came out last fall. It was so much fun playing tourist and getting to check out all the amazing things just a few minutes away from where I’d been living. Although I was able to put together a good list of things to do and see from friends and the internet, having the Boston Tourism Essentials Ebook would have been a big help! It basically gives you a run down of all the biggest highlights that you’ll want to hit–the Freedom Trail, Fenway Park, The Boston Gardens and Commons, and a list of the museums. I did appreciate the info she includes on navigating the T (we got a little lost our first time on it, got off at the wrong station to try to find our car, it was a bit of a mess!) I will be using the information on some of the more adult museums (aka not the Children’s/Science museum which we’ve already done) and hope to visit one during hubby and I’s special date when he returns from deployment 😀

The coolest part about this ebook is that you can get your copy for *free*! Yepp, you read that right! All you have to do is sign up for the Boston Tourism Made Easy – Boston Event Guide Newsletter

I hope that this will help you as you plan your trip to visit this *beautiful* and fun city I now call home!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Deployment Goodie Box Ideas

Also we all did receive our books! Hubby said his were old but he brought them to their boat house so they could read them on duty (and hey–it’s free!) Our box was great! There were some that I gave to the thrift store but I was SUPER happy with the board books we got sent–and we got sent one Fancy Nancy book and a super cute Chicken Little storybook. So definitely check all those out!

Endangerbles CD *Review & Giveaway*

***This giveaway is now CLOSED congrats to Darcie K.  who won***

Endangerbles

I always think that it’s important to have my kids not only listen to music that is fun and entertaining for them, but that also teaches something, whether it be about our Christian faith, good manners, or respect and love for our Earth and the creatures that God created in it. The Endangerbles CD focuses on that last aspect, in a way that makes it kid friendly. Amber loved the first song that talks about the name of the Cd because it has monkey sounds like the background (haha). She kept asking to listen to “the little monkey again, please. I love him”. Too funny! After the first song she quickly lost interest, however. I think at 3 years old this CD is too old for her and seems to me to be more geared towards the elementary school age group of kids. The songs remind me of kid versions of grownup music, with a few songs having a Bob Marley flavor and others reminding me of the Disney pop-esque Hannah Montana type music. If you enjoy kids CDs that have a good variety with each song and your children enjoy that kind of music then this would be a great CD for you!

If you’d like to check out their sound for yourself you can receive one free Endangerble song to download! All you have to do is visit The Endangerble Website, sign up to be a deputy, select SSA as how you heard about the site and you’ll receive an email with a link to your free download!
