Week 9

The other morning when I was making Bob’s sandwich the smell of the cheese and deli meat made me gag…
I have constant nausea from the time I wake up till about 5 in the evening, and the only things that sound even remotely tasty are fast food and BLTs
I’ve been sleeping in till past 10 most days and still am tired all day and exhausted by 10 at night and ready for bed
I keep knocking stuff over, dropping stuff, and tripping over my own feet.
I can’t remember anything and get confused easily.
Ah yes….it’s all coming back to me now, this is what being pregnant is all about!
Except for this time around I have a toddler to take care of on top of everything!
Thankfully she’s a doll who sleeps in and is pretty low maintenance and manages to keep herself occupied easily…and surely it won’t damage her forever if she watches Sesame Street and Barney while I curl up on the couch right?!
I told Amber the day after we found out. She’s still too little to really “get” it so I wanted to have her be one of theย first people to know. ๐Ÿ™‚ I asked her if she wanted a baby brother or sister and she said yes.(She adores babies!)ย Then I told her mommy has a baby in my belly and she lifted up her shirt and looked at her belly, then came over and lifted up my shirt and looked at my belly, looked confused then laughed and said “tickle tickle” while she tickled my belly then she went back to playing, LOL!!!
Hubbies been a huge help so far too, swept and mopped the kitchen for company and made me a BLT last night after I couldn’t choke down the enchiladas I cooked. Even looking at all the Holiday goodies on tv makes me want to gag….I made fudge and could only eat a few pieces….seriously bummed about that!
Today was my first ย human pin-cushionย Dr’s appointment. If there is one thing I hate more than anything in the whole world, it’s getting my blood drawn. Had a few traumatic experiences as a kid and now it completely freaks me out! Shots and IVs are bad too, but that’s the worst! Of course, that’s a big part of pregnancy, goody goody. Today lived up to my fears, they had to take like 8 vials and when they finished the room started spinning, my vision flickered and I broke out in a cold sweat, what fun!!! About 10 minutes of sitting still later I was able to stand up at least.
On a happy note my blood pressure is good, I’m starting out this pregnancy 12 lbs lighter than last pregnancy (woot!) and the next time I go I’ll get tiny bean baby pictures! Also I keep reading that women who experience throwing up are far less likely to have a miscarriage, so at least I know all is well with baby ๐Ÿ™‚
Right now the little bugger that’s make me so sick is the size of a grape and the internal organs are all already there, how amazing is that?!
Stay tuned as, just like my friend Paulina does on her blog, I plan on sharing it all with you…the good, the bad, and the ugly ๐Ÿ™‚

I hate being pricked, too!! When I was prego with the girls, I had to get my blood drawn every month and when I was in the hosp the 1st time I had an IV. The 11 days I spent in the hospital before the girls were born, I had my blood drawn every morning at 6 am and had 3 IV’s there and a blood transfusion!!! :O
I hopefully won’t have to be pricked that many times next pregnancy!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

I am 10 weeks today and definitely having every symptom you said… I came home last night to them making Salmon- I had to run from the room! Fast food and junk is the only thing that sounds mildly appetizing too. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love reading people’s pregnancy stories – especially yours ๐Ÿ˜€ Bet you’re at least glad the first visit is out of the way. Amber will be such a cute big sister.

I never had any of the “normal” pregnancy symptoms. I always wanted to have a weird craving (not too weird, like craving dirt or anything) but, no, I couldn’t have any cravings. ๐Ÿ™ I’m excited to hear all about your pregnancy as it progresses!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrats on being preggo!! I hate the sickness that comes with it though. I was sick from 6 weeks until the day I delivered! Luckily there is medicine that helped!! Good luck! Cant wait to hear the stories!
