The Warble by Victoria Simcox

Want to know a secret? I’m a closet nerd! Ok–maybe not closet, I’m pretty much open about it. I have always had a special place in my heart for Fantasy books & movies! The Lord of the Rings series ranks as my all time favorite set of movies and the Narnia books are well read favorites of mine still. Want to know *another* secret? (Oh boy two in one day-you guys should feel extra special!!!! haha) I also still *love* to read young adult books, they’re actually some of my favorites! There is just something refreshing and relaxing about picking up a young adult book after a day of bending my mind around parenting, work, and all that goes into life as me!

The Warble fit into a perfect nitch in my heart and mind because as a young adult fantasy book it was just what the Dr. ordered. I loved the Narnia feel the book had to it while bringing fresh concepts to well known mythical creatures like fairies. I gave my sister the second book in the series, (The Shard) for Christmas and we both agree that we love how Victoria portrays the Fairies in the books. No one else seems to get fairies quite *right* but she does a wonderful and magical job of crafting them! This book is about a 12 year old girl named Kristina who is unpopular and all the adventures that occur when she receives an unusual Christmas present.

Designed for ages 9-13 years old children I could see myself curling up with this book at that age and enjoying it as it sparked my imagination. If you also have a soft spot for fantasy or a child who does then I would recommend checking out this fun new series!
