After a day full of work, laundry, cleaning, kiddos, and all that goes into life as me there is no better way to unwind than curling up with a good book. My favorite me time stories are Christian historical fiction romances. I devoured read through The Guardian Duke in just 3 days. It was just what the Dr. ordered after a hard week of work and reading through many deep and thick non-fiction books lately.
The two main characters in this book, Alexandria (known as Alex to her friends) and Gabriel are complex and interesting. They are delightfully flawed and struggle with things. Something I later found out that Jamie did purposefully as she felt she couldn’t relate to the picture perfect heroines found in many Christian novels. The novel builds and so does it’s intrigue–and leaves you hanging on the last page, wanting more! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and find out what happens! The storyline has hints of predictability-including two guys wishing for the same gal-but over all the plot is very unique and very interesting. Overall it was a delightful read that left me wishing and waiting for more in The Forgotten Castles series!
