September was a usual busy month for us with Amber getting into the swing of First Grade . She was a little bummed when she quickly figured out that elementary school is a whole lot more about sitting at a desk and doing papers all day and not so much about playing in “home center” or with “beans and dinosaurs”. She got over her initial disappointment, however, and is doing great!
Although it doesn’t feel like it with our still 90 degree days Fall and back-to-everything has turned my mind to getting and staying healthy which brought on a barrage of posts along this line which included the furry members of our family.
My four small business jobs continue to keep me constantly on my toes, but I feel like I’ve finally settled into a good groove once again and scaled back hours on several of them so that I can have time to actually enjoy a funny movie on the weekends, upload photos that are only 6 months old on Facebook, enjoy Moms Inc. and preschool at home with Tyler, and have plenty of time for Pinterest fun!
My most popular pins this month were
Running Slower Than a Heard of Turtles (hehe–one of my favorites…still need that shirt)
Easy Panko & Parmesan Tilapia Recipe (a serious favorite around here–even the kids love it)
Howard B Wigglebottom Learns to Listen (no surprise with the start of the school year that we’re brushing up on listening skills!)
Creamy Baked Chicken Breast Recipe (have only heard good things from any one who’s tried it–there’s a reason we love it!)
Betty Crocker Ice Cream Cone Birthday Cupcakes (for all those Fall birthdays)
Part of scaling back means being able to devote a few hours once the kids are in bed to much needed “recharge” time. I was trying the “from the time I get up to the time I go to sleep” bit for awhile this summer and it was wrecking havoc on all of us!
Recharge time usually looks like me running/jogging/walking on the treadmill for 43 minutes to Once Upon a Time (just finished Season 2–slowly, slowly I’m catching up), continuing to read through the Bible in one year (I’m actually on track–yippee!), read through Harry Potter books for the first time (I know–I’m behind on everything), and of course spend some hang out time with hubby who’s working his tail off in this hardest semester yet of his Junior year!
So that’s the dish behind the scenes for September! What did your month look like?! Catch me up in the comments!
