They’ve won blue ribbons and been gushed over by cute guys and moms alike. My chocolate chip cookies have always been my go-to “secret weapon”. Whether I was looking to impress a new guy as a teenager, or a new moms group now, I always turn to my perfect, fluffy, ooey-gooey bundles of joy! Throughout the years I’ve been approached and asked if I’d share the “secret recipe” to my Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies — which always makes me laugh, and you’ll understand why in a minute!
However once I got to thinking about it I came up with 5 Secrets that I use to make sure my cookies turn out so awesomely delicious each time I bake them. I decided the perfect chocolate chip cookie is too great a gift to be kept from the world, so here, once and for all I give you:

So this has become my *favorite* saying lately–True Story!!! Because, honestly, although we all know I’m on my quest to get *(even more) Slim & Trim there’s no way I’m ever going to get the point I give up chocolate! So when any company or any person or any *anything* for that matter asks me the question, “Would you like us to send you some chocolate?” The answer is a resounding Y E S !!!!
Recently I got the chance to try out two unique and exquisite looking chocolate bars from Chuao Chocolatier. When I posted an Instagram pic to Facebook it ensued a whole lot of “likes” and discussions of working for chocolate–haha! Also one of my friends mentioned that she’d tried their spicy maya and her hubby liked it but she had to get used to it first since it was such a different concept.
I’m not a spicy person–I’ve never understood the appeal of spicy food, to me it’s just hot and makes my mouth feel like it’s on fire–not tasty!! However I’m willing to try *just* about anything once (as my gagging down escargot…once…proved) so I decided to give the spicy maya bar a try!
I was pleased that it wasn’t nearly as hot as I thought it might be. The dark chocolate hits your taste buds first..yummmmm….then you get a nice little kick in the mouth in the form of a spicy aftertaste. The best thing I can liken it too is eating a gourmet dark chocolate covered hot tamale candy! What surprised me the most was that the kiddos–especially Tyler–*loved* it and they quickly polished off the rest of the bar when I offered them “a taste”. Haha!
I was *most* excited about trying out the Rocky Road bar! Whenever I see Rocky Road I instantly equate it with ice cream and it makes me super nostalgic to when my mom and I used to order it in Farson, Wyoming (if you’re ever driving up to Yellowstone National Park be *sure* to stop in Farson and get a cone/cup of ice cream!!!)
So anyways I couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into my oh-so-sweet bar of memories! When I opened it up the first thing I noticed was the back of the bar–check it out! It was so funny to me to see all the goodies just “hanging out” Haha! The bar was absolutely delicious but I have to say that I think I would have liked it better if the marshmallows and almonds would have been chopped up and spread throughout the bar so that it wasn’t like I was just getting a bit of only marshmallow or only almond ever now and then. Since the ice cream has the “chunks” in it I can see how it feels more “legit” that way, but for some reason it just didn’t click with me as well!
Both bars were definitely a lot of fun and much more grown up and exciting than your checkout line variety! If you haven’t tried Chuao Chocolatier you will definitely have to!
Leave me a comment letting me know your thoughts on Spicy Chocolate and what the weirdest food you’ve ever tried is!!
♥ I love football!♥
I’m the only girl I know who screams at the television when I’m watching my teams. I know where I get it from, both my grandpa’s did it, but I’ve yet to meet a girl who does.
It all started when I was a young teenager. My parents were always super supportive of all their children which included going to all sports practices and games, even the ones that were hours away. Since I had two younger brothers this meant that I too had to go along to all the football games and practices. I had two options:
1. I could watch it and hate every minute and be bored
2. I could cheer my brothers on and learn about the game
I chose the latter. The more I cheered and learned I began to like the game, until I grew to absolutely love it! Having a bunch of cute boys play with my brother helped a lot too 😉
I had always thought how lucky my future boyfriends/hubby would be having a woman like me. I mean, who doesn’t love a girl who will watch football with them, and actually understand what’s going on? The ironic thing is that every guy I dated couldn’t have cared less about football. I’m always the one in the relationship to turn the TV on and yell for my teams come Sunday. I’ve “converted” Bob over time and he too has learned to love the game.
I’m super excited that it’s almost time for football again! This season the Broncos are opening up and while I’m totally mourning the loss of Tebow (sniff sniff) I’m excited about having Peyton Manning on the team though!
You know it’s football season when you start seeing the treats everywhere! Today I spotted these great SNICKERS® Brand NFL Minis at Wal-Mart–Football and Chocolate, talk about a win-win for me!
Here is a great, fun easy-peasy way to jazz up this bagged candy for opening night!
- Take a platter (a football shaped one would be best!) and cover the outside in SNICKERS® Brand NFL Minis Open several other SNICKERS® Brand NFL Minis and put them in the middle.
- Make homemade Butter Cream Icing
- Use a cake decorating kit to put little laces on the opened SNICKERS® Brand NFL Minis (you can pick them up for super cheap in the craft section at Wal*Mart-I love the Wilton kind the best and they include the icing recipe in the kit)
