How To Put Together the Perfect Thinking of You Gift

How to put together the Perfect Thinking of You Gift Basket
Legalese Disclosure Nonsense: Sometimes people in your life need cheering up! The people associated with Infuse Your Mood tea and Print My Baby Shower realize this and were delighted to help sponsor this post for you! All delicious cookies, bad handwriting, and love of cheering people up is my own.

It seems like there has been a rash of hard times and bad news popping up lately. It’s terrible when you hear wrenching news that you can do absolutely nothing about. The kind of news where you just don’t know if there is anything that you can do or say that could possibly help the situation and not just make it worse.

I like to think, however, that there is always something you can do–even if it’s just some very small act of kindness to let someone know that they are not alone. So lately when I’ve been hearing these things that make my heart sad I’ve been trying to reach out in love with a “Thinking of You” Gift!

Smart Summer Snacking

Smart Summer Snacking
Legalese Nonsense: Knowing that I have 2 always hungry young kiddos the lovelies over at Post thought we might like to test taste the new Sesame Street Cereal! All spilled snacks, strict rules, and smart ideas are my own!

It’s Friday! In case you haven’t noticed lately I’ve been trying to bring you some of my favorite recipes or food on Fridays–because I love food and I’m fairly certain you do too!

In addition to be Friday it’s also the official beginning to summer, which means you probably have a house full of kiddos around now to entertain. If your kids are anything like mine less structure means more pestering–and that includes the “Mom I’m soooooo hungry” chant that comes oh-too-often.

My Very First Noah’s Ark Playtime

My Very First Noah's Ark Playtime
Legalese Disclosure Nonsense: I have a problem when it comes to books–especially children’s books–and ESPECIALLY Children’s Work Books. I see them and I must have them. So when I was offered the chance to review Noah’s Ark Playtime I just *had* to say yes! All thoughts on books, arks, and gingerbread is my own.

My Very First Noah’s Ark Playtime

When it comes to pretty much anything I love getting “the most bang for my buck”. This applies to children’s work books and storybooks, as well! I usually look for books that can be reused over and over again–like dry erase books can–or ones that can be used again once they’re all done playing with them–like workbooks that double as story books or have games, recipes, or activities that can be done over and over again. Books that are the best combine any number of the above items, and of course have to be good quality and cute as well. What can I say–I have high standards!

My Very First Noah’s Ark Playtime: Activity Book With Stickers happily falls into that hard to reach bracket! Cute and fun it does a good job of telling the well known story of Noah’s Ark. What makes this retelling special (since we already have several versions of this tale) is what it includes along with the cute retelling.

Every Day Heroes

Hero Quote
Legalese Disclosure Nonsense: In celebration of Every Day Heroes in June P&G teamed up with Dollar General to send me the same prize pack as the one I was giving away. All patriotic feelings, pictures, and coupon loving is my own!

I feel so blessed to have gotten to know so many men and women who serve our country during the time my husband was in the Coast Guard. Getting to hang out with a bunch of Coasties is definitely a unique experience! While they are just normal people, like anyone else, there is something incredibly special about them at the same time. That anyone would be willing to accept the risks and the sacrifices to serve our country is something that puts me a little in awe-even as someone who was a military spouse for so long! All of our service members really are every day heroes–and I love it when businesses recognize and honor them for this!

Better Together

How To Pull Off a Red, White, & Blue Outfit {without looking like a lawn ornament}

So I should probably start by explaining that I have, indeed, been guilty of a few “lawn ornament” outfits–you know what I’m talking about. It’s one thing to be patriotic but some of the 4th of July outfits out there just take it to a whole level of crazy! As I’ve mentioned I’ve recently been decluttering and organizing my closet and as I do I’ve been trying to take a few fashion lessons and learning how to pull of styles that are fun, fashionable, age appropriate, and still very “me”.

Three Fun Ways to Be Healthy

3 Fun Ways to Be Healthy
Legalese Disclosure Nonsense: Becoming healthy and “short shorts” worthy is hard work! That’s why I love it when awesome companies offer to let me “test run” their products to see if they’d fit in with my {trying to be} slim and trim lifestyle. All deep breaths, nighttime snacks, healthy claims, and relishing candy-like vitamins are my own.

As I near the end of Operation Short Shorts pretty much the only thing that I’ve accomplished is realizing how hard making these changes are going to be for me! However this whole process has been very good for me because it’s helped me to become so much more aware of exactly what I am doing, and what I’m not doing–and I think that is really the first step towards real and lasting changes for the better! (psst there’s a giveaway so keep scrolling down!)

The Confession DVD Review

The Confession DVD

Legalese Disclosure Nonsense: It wouldn’t be nice to send me one movie and not another, so I was very happy when I received The Confession to review. All teary eyes, snuggly chick flick nights, and nit picky opinions are, as always, my own.

Movies that end on cliff hangers always leave me waiting anxiously for the next one–and as I mentioned The Shunning did just that so I was super excited when I found out that the next movie in the series, Beverly Lewis’ the Confession, was finally here! Since watching the movies I have picked up two of the books in the series, but I’m waiting to get all three before I start reading them-so I don’t have the ability to compare them to the books (yet). I’ve learned I like reading the books after movies though-since that way movies aren’t a let down!

The Top Christian Apparel Website –!

B Not of This World
Legalese Disclosure Nonsense: Want to know what makes me happy, happy, happy? Getting to gush a little about a brand I’ve loved for years especially when they send me a shirt to do so. All fashion faces (however well or badly attempted) before mentioned gushing, and previous gift purchase mentioned are my own.

The Top Christian Apparel Website –!

I love and have for over 5 years now! In my opinion they’re the hands down the top Christian apparel website there is! Every Christmas someone in my family ends up with at least one shirt from — usually from my parents or from me. This past Christmas I bought my brother Ryan one of the awesome Guys Button Down shirts which are perfect for church because they’re dressy but really fun and stylish at the same time. And my Mom and Dad almost always get me and Hannah a Fashion Top–which I love because they’re long, loose, and modest while also being very edgy and fun.
