I am thankful….
for my Great Uncle Robert who went to Vietnam as a medic and died trying to help a wounded solider. For each of his brothers that also served in the military.
For both my Grandpas who served in the Navy and the Army.
For my Uncle who was a translator for the Army during Operation Desert Storm.
For my step cousins who are in the Marines, one of whom served 3 tours in Iraq.
For our close Marine friend Nate who served overseas in Afghanistan and is separated from his family for training today.
For my friends in the National Guard and Marines who were also deployed to Iraq.
For my Dad-in-law who was a Marine and lost part of his hearing while serving and working on Marine Corp aircraft.
For my brother-in-law who is excelling in his career in the Army and also served in Afghanistan.
For my husband who served for over 8 years honoring fallen Coasties and keeping America safe.
For the hundreds of men and women I’ve met through my husbands military career that I’ve been honored and blessed to spend time with.
For every person who has ever joined the military to serve and protect our country.
They served because they wanted to keep us free. They sacrificed time with their family, their physical health, even their lives.
For this I’m am sincerely and eternally grateful.
Today is Veteran’s Day.
Please find someone who’s served our country and thank them. It’s the least you can do!
